Cable clamps are certified fastening systems for low-, medium- and high-voltage cables in professional installations. Unlike cable ties that temporarily bundle cables, cable clamps provide permanent grip that is resistant to electromagnetic forces during short circuits.
When a short circuit occurs, electromagnetic forces between conductors can reach tens of kilonewtons. Without short-circuit resistant clamps, cables break free, insulation becomes damaged and fire hazards arise. KOZ cable clamps are tested in accordance with NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021 to keep cables securely held under extreme conditions. In data centres, high-voltage installations and industry, certified cable clamps form the first line of defence against short-circuit damage.
KOZ Cable clamps and blocks are certified to the international NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021 norm.
KOZ cable clamps are certified in accordance with NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021, the international standard for short-circuit resistant cable fastening. Tests are carried out at KEMA (DNV-GL) and Schneider Electric under SGS supervision. The test setup simulates short-circuit currents whereby electromagnetic forces between conductors are measured. Clamps must hold cables in place for five complete cycles without coming loose. Certification also includes temperature tests (-80°C and +120°C), salt water resistance (1,000+ hours), impact resistance and UV aging.
Six product categories with diameter range Ø11-160mm cover 95% of professional installations without custom solutions. From individual high-voltage cables to modular switch cabinet systems.
NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021 by KEMA, SGS, Schneider Electric, KU Leuven. Lloyd's Register Type Approval for marine. EN 45545-2 for rail. Verifiable test results, not just claims.
Permanently applicable from -80°C to +120°C, peaks up to +220°C. Resistant to salt water, UV, ozone, oils, fuels, acids, alkalis and radiation. Halogen-free, non-magnetic, non-conductive.
A one-off investment without replacement cycles in installations that remain operational for 20-30 years. No maintenance windows, no recurring costs.
Used in 60+ countries since 1998. Standard series available from stock. Local distributors for fast delivery and on-site technical support.
Cable ties are thin plastic strips for temporary bundling without mechanical strength. They fail under short-circuit forces. Cable clamps are certified systems made from PA66 polyamide that hold cables in place under electromagnetic forces of up to tens of kilonewtons. Tested in accordance with NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021, essential in professional installations where safety is critical.
For single cables Ø16-130mm: Single ST. For mounting on masts: Single STC. For three cables in 3-phase: Trefoil TRI (high voltage) or TRI ECO (economical). For switch cabinets with modifications: Universal UNI modular. For four cables: Square series. Contact KOZ for advice if in doubt.
During a short circuit, electromagnetic forces of up to 50 kilonewtons can arise. Non-certified clamps fail under dynamic short-circuit forces. Cables break free, insulation becomes damaged and fire risk increases. NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021 guarantees testing at short-circuit currents in accredited laboratories. Insurers and inspectors require certification for liability and approval purposes.
Yes, KOZ cable clamps are suitable for permanent outdoor installations. PA66 polyamide is UV resistant without coatings. The material retains its properties from -80°C to +120°C. Weather resistant against rain, snow, frost and sun for decades. For maritime environments with salt water: Lloyd’s Register Type Approval is available.
Short-circuit resistance is the ability to hold cables in place under electromagnetic forces during short circuits. At 150 kA, forces can reach 40-60 kilonewtons. Without short-circuit resistant clamps, cables can be flung metres away. NEN-EN-IEC 61914:2021 tests clamps at peak currents for five cycles. KOZ tested at KEMA and Schneider Electric up to 150+ kA.
